Things You Should Know about Frugal Foodies

Please be sure to read ALL of the following before signing up for Frugal Foodies:

1. Frugal Foodies is not a class, but more of a learn-by-doing community cooking group. It's hands-on as opposed to instructive.

2. Frugal Foodies does not take place in an industrial kitchen. Being there feels more like being in a home than in a restaurant.

3. Frugal Foodies is not a business but instead a community activity run entirely by volunteers. Since all of us that run it also have full-time lives, we ask that you only call the host on the phone if you're lost on the way over or it's some other kind of emergency. Otherwise, email is the way to go.

4. Frugal Foodies is often a bit chaotic. Lots of people in a medium-sized space, loud music, etc. People looking for a tranquil evening may very well be disappointed.

5. Frugal Foodies is often held in shoe-free environments. Pick your socks accordingly or bring house slippers if you prefer.

6. Frugal Foodies sometimes takes place in buildings that are unfortunately not accessible for all types of disabilities. Please inquire when you sign up if you have a particular concern, as we're committed to making your experience as positive as possible.
We are happy to carry wheelchair users up and down the stairs if desired and have done so in the past.

7. If you (or a guest) have an allergy to any food items, you must let us know this at the time you sign up for a Frugal Foodies date and the menu will be tweaked accordingly, whenever possible. It's very difficult to make significant changes on the fly so please give us advance notice.

8. Please do not come to Frugal Foodies if you are sick with something that is contagious.

9. Please don't sign up for a Frugal Foodies date if you can't arrive by the start time (generally 6:30PM) and stay until it's done (generally 9:45PM.)

10. You are welcome to bring alcohol to Frugal Foodies. Smoking and drugs are not welcome.

11. Penultimately, as Frugal Foodies takes place in a small space and we're working with food, hygiene is key. Please do your fellow guests a good turn and tend to your cleanliness, dental hygiene, and general aroma accordingly. By this token, please also limit the amount of perfume or cologne that you wear as some people are especially sensitive to this as well.

12. Lastly, if you are a person who needs to be in charge or do things your own way, this may not be the place for you. There are not a lot of rules but the ones we have are important for everything to run smoothly.

Thanks from the Management!
